Code of conduct

MAYHAI, as a strongly leading garments manufacturer, feels that it is increasingly important for us to take responsibility for all our business activities. We commit to:

Comply with all applicable local laws in our country, and with all applicable laws in the countries where our business are being conducted as well as to adhere our customer's standards & requirements.

Respect for Environment

Child labor:

We shall not employ any workers who are younger than 15 years of age as stipulated by Viet Nam Labor law, and all other applicable child labor laws, or the age for completing compulsory education

 

 

 

 

Prison labor/Forced labor:

We shall not use any involuntary or prison labor or forced labor, indentured, bounded or otherwise in any of our facilities. 

Discrimination:

While we recognize and respect cultural differences, workers shall be employed on the basis of their ability to do the job, rather than on the basis of gender, racial characteristics or cultural, religious or personal beliefs.  

Disciplinary Practices:

We shall provide a work environment free of harassment, abuse or corporal punishment in any form

Freedom of Association:

We recognize and respect the right of its workers to exercise lawful rights of free association, including joining or not joining any association.  

Wages and benefits:

We shall provide wages and benefits that comply with any applicable local law, or match the prevailing local manufacturing or industry practices, whichever is higher.

Working hours:

We ensure employee's work hours shall not, on a regularly scheduled basis, exceed the lesser of legal limitations on regular and overtime hour allowed by our local law. Except in extraordinary circumstances, employees shall be entitled to add at least one day off every seven day period.

Compensation:

We shall comply with all wage and hour laws and regulations, including minimum wage, overtime, maximum hours, piece rates and other issues involved with compensation, including providing legally mandated benefits.  Overtime pay will be regulated by allowances given by local law.

Health & Safety:

We shall provide our workers with a clean, safe and healthy work environment to prevent accidents and injury to health arising our of.

Protection of the Environment:

We shall comply with all applicable environmental legal requirements and observe environmentally conscious practices in all locations that we conduct our business operations.

Monitoring and Compliance:

We shall authorize our customers and any monitoring agency employed by our customers to take the compliance audit and/or to regulate the continuing compliance of the Code of Conduct. We undertake affirmative measures, such as announced and unannounced on-site inspection of production facilities, any and all records containing employment issues and private interviews with employees on an as needed basis.  To monitor compliance with these standards.
